Explorers have never come with locking differentials. On the drivers door there is a tag that lists the vin and a bunch of other stuff, On the bottom of the tag it'll say axle and then give you either a number or letter number combo. Either post it here or you can search for the code, there are lists posted here on the board to tell you what you have.

i got axel code D2

so then it dont have posi? either front or back?

4.10 gears at both ends. The rear is limited slip (posi), the front is open.

Should be 4.10 limited slip. posi is just chevrolet's name for limited slip, ford calls it trac-lock.

thanks all, happy to hear it. cant belive i spelled differential with an m. lol fat fingers i guess.
