what are the biggest tires you can put on a 96XLT with a torsion twist? what have some of you guys done. if necessary i will do a body lift to jam some 33's wrangler at's on my truck

With just a T/T and shackles I'd say 31's easy. 32's if you don't mind a little triming. Add a 2" Body lift and you could fit some 33's with a bit of trimming

Yeah.. I have a '96 with TT/Shackles and my 31's easily fit in there. They even kinda look small. I'd almost say you could get 32's with no trimming. But I'm not 100%.

In removing the running boards, is there a trick on pulling the plastic clips out, or just grip it and rip it.

Grip and rip. And pray you could re-use them if you wanted. I'm pretty sure all mine came out in one piece.

I was able to pull from one end and get a tiny straight blade inbetween, and pop the clips out. I managed to get both sides off, only breaking 2 clips.
