First off sorry to yosh18981898 for me hijacking part of his front bumper thread (good job on that btw
)
So anyways, I'm thinking of building my own radius arms for my TTB cause I'm really sick of my lack of turning radius due to my tires hitting them and the shocks due to my duff parts I have in my front end, for the most part the plan is pretty simple, 2"x 0.25" walled DOM tube with a threaded weld on adapter on one end for a heim joint, and 1/4" plate for the ttb end of it...
BUT
What grade/alloy DOM to use, 4130, 1020, 1026
Price wise I'm swaying towards the 1026= 2 od x 1/4w c1026 dom ew stl tube a513 t5 @ about $11 a foot
though a on-line metal supply house (need to call and get a price from their local store tomorrow) though I just might end up getting a full 20 foot stick of though another source (price depending)
Now what does everyone think? is 1026 going to hold up good enough for daily driver?
Welding it isnt a issue I'm a aerospace cert tig welder and qualified to weld steel, I can put the stuff together figuring what to use to make it out of is a diffrent story
