I just read the thread on spark plugs, and was wondering what else can you do for a basic tune up, other than plugs, plug wires, air filter?

I had a tune up done recently, the only other thing I had done was the serpentine belt and a power steering flush.

I did a complete tune up recently, oil, filter, cone filter, plugs, wires, trany fluid and filter, fuel filter, greased all the fittings, ran a bottle of injector cleaner, ran a bottle of power steering conditioner, both lucas, cleaned the air flow sensor, cleaned the throttle body, and a new belt, does'nt really count, I know, and last but not least, a new 02 sensor. All this resulted in one smooth running engine, getting about 15 mpg street, and about 19-20 mpg highway, not bad for 215,000 mile engine.

Don't forget the PCV valve.

Yeah, forgot about that one, replaced it too, lol.

clean the MAS, TB and IAC.
flush coolant if its been a while, new thermostat never hurts.
Other then that its all been covered.
Fuel filter is important IMO.

You can Sea Foam the intake to rid yourself of some carbon.
