Underbody Spare Tire Mount Repair

Hey!

I have a '97 explorer with a busted spare tire mount on the underside of the car. are there any websites that details the repair of this mount? Has anyone had to replace this spare tire mount? i have been told that i need to get this particular part from the dealer, but i would rather fix it myself. Any ideas?

Did you break the mount or the actual mechanism? If you simply have a rear tire winch that isn't operating, you can just replace it.
