If this is in wrong spot please move :)

I stumbled across this thread when looking for some info on the HF 90 amp welder that someone I know is taking in on a partial trade..:hammer:

Has anybody else seen or done these upgrades?...Sounds a bit complicated for me when I could probably buy a used good welder but the upgrade cost to something I already own might make it worth mytime...Thoughts?

I had one of these to start off learning, and it was extremely difficult. I bought a used craftsman MIG 220 unit with gas for $400 bucks off Craigslist and never looked back. It's much easier to learn on a decent machine. I would save and get something better then trying to make your life difficult.

Just my 2cents

I have a nice lincoln 220v mig welder in my shop but have an old 90a HF welder in my storage I use as a "lender" to my friends. I am definitely going to look into these mods since I already have the unit.
