I want to put a real, mechanical shift kit in my 1997 4R70W. I can barely feel when it shifts, and with 110,000 on the clock I want the transmission to last.

My Choices:
B&M Shift Improver 40266:

Baumman Engineering Shift Kit:
Dead Link Removed

What are your opinions? I'm leaning twoards the Baumann.

Along with with the shift kit, Baumann lists:
-Pressure Regulator
-Bypass Clutch Control

What are your opinions on these additional parts?

Currently the trans shifts great, but there may be a small problem. Occasionally, at 35-40mph, there is a slight jerking/stumbling motion, that also occurs when the transmission shifts on the highway. It appears to be the TC locking/unlocking.

Thanks,
Aaron

i have both. the B&M controller does nothing compared to the Baumann. with the B&M on setting 2 it shifts as it should have from the factory. get the baumann, its well worth the $100. install is real easy, and the instructions are some of the best ive ever seen.

i really love my baumann- i count it among my best mods and it is probably the best thing i've ever done for the money so far (the 800a2 for $180 and 15s for $230 and white rims and nitto's for 1,300, air ride for $200 with independent control all seem like they may displace it real soon on top there though)

get the baumann as fast as you can!
