FYI-For those interested in this swap, who have the motor, I have for sale, the radiator with electric fan, motor mounts and what I suppose you could call long tube headers for sale. I sold off my swap and this is what I have left. If you are interested, please PM me as these parts are specific to the v8 into the ranger/sploder/b2 body style.

Does anyone have any information on the requirements for swapping a 4.0 sohc to a 5.0 liter in a 1997 exorer. My engine is getting old and i am contemplating throwing a crate 5.0L in but want to know how practical it is and what is required for the swap

4.0L to 5.0L

As long as its the same year you should be able to just bolt one in,
I'm planning on doing the swap when this motor dies.

not exactly. you will have to change some things depending on what year of truck you have.
