Thanks for looking.

My wife and I both have the same laptops.

Hers is fine, the volume is nice and loud.

On mine, the video plays back like alvin and the chipmunks, and the volume is way too low even with all settings cranked to 11

It does this in both on both Chrome and Windows explorer. Playback speed is set to normal.

Windows 7

Help?

I did try searching on the google, tried a couple of suggestions with no luck.

What video player are you playing the video through? You are sure the computers volume is turned up? Right click on the speaker icon in the lower right of your screen and then select "Open Volume Mixer" and make sure nothing is set too low. I'd suggest doing the same on your wife's computer to cross check.

If needed, I can add some screenshots or remote into your computer.

Edit - Meant to say "Right Click"

I assume it is using flash player to play videos on youtube and facebook.

Yes, I am sure all my volume levels are pegged.

Maybe your flash player is out of date? Go here: https://get3.adobe.com/flashplayer/update/plugin/ and make sure you uncheck the Optional Offer, then update.

Otherwise if flash is updated, computer is cranked up and so is the player on the videos you're watching, then I'll have to give this more thought.

Hmm.

I disabled some plug ins and now the video "speed" seems normal, however i still have very low audio level.

The driver is real tek audio. I wonder if re install of the driver would help. This low volume issue seemed to show up when I re imaged my hard drive a short time ago.

Joel, thanks for your help

I reinstalled flash, but still have low volume levels.

I use avast internet security ( paid subscription) which has a software updating tool. It said flash was updated but I re installed it anyway.

My wife's computer is so loud I have to turn the tv up to compete, while mine is so quiet I have to turn off everything else in the house just to get hint of what is going on. weird.

Got it!

Thanks Joel.

I found this stupid "custom" tab in the real tek properties. didn't think earlier to check what was in there.

This " limited output" box was checked. I unchecked it and now I have some sound! :D
