seen a couple of posts touting the purchase of a B code ST and the implication it was better than an A code. The letter code in in the 12th position on the VIN. All I can see is this is only part of the sequencing number. The DOT web site doesn't make any distinction other than that. Any other comments I'm missing? ( vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov )

No difference. B code starts once they hit 100,000 vehicles. The whole reference point is they built 100k+ so they have better build quality as they worked through production issues.

Makes perfect sense. Thank you.

A vs B is distinguished by the VCL on the driver B-pillar when opening the driver door. It’s essentially early 2019 vs late 2019 build dates OR 2019 vs 2020 build dates based on production schedule.

The build date will be at upper left corner of the VCL.

ex:
06/2019 vs 12/2019

Thank you Phil. Never paid any attention to this label. Proves again what a great site this is.
