Virginia Explorers - GWNF Offroad Run Nov 2012

DominicanX is getting his coilovers serviced and replacing his steering joints with Heims, and probably 50 other little things :)

I'm lifting my truck 2.5" and installing a set of clearance lights on the cab, as well as installing some signal mirrors on the sides. I also hope to get some type of tow points on the front end of my truck since the 4th Gen explorers don't have the mounting holes like the 3rd Gens do.

Lol last time i seen his truck it was looking beast, cant imagine there is much else he could do.lol

are you lifting because your rubbing or just for clearance?yea cant wait to see that new truck looks sick!im excited!!!i just gota do my rear seal in my axle and im ready.i bought a set of street tires so ill be doing a NASCAR pit stop when i get up to switch tires!hahah

so who is all planning on camping and what days is everyone coming up,or down in yalls case;)

thanks! Can't wait to get a good look at your supercharger setup! yeah DominicanX is always looking for ways to make his truck even better. He told me he's also looking at getting a tank for his onboard air and maybe a winch in the rear bumper too.

I'm lifting to get a little more ground clearance and also because I've got some rubbing in the front with the new tires when turning the steering wheel at 80% or more...especially on grades or when backing up.

DominicanX and I are going to convoy out there saturday morning and camp out saturday night with you guys.

Hell yeah! I can't wait... Were going to have a blast!
I'm torn on slapping on these strut spacers or not...I'm worried what it'll cost to get it aligned....

Do it! Do it! You know you want the extra clearance haha

The only part that worries me is needing camber kits after lift thus making alignment outrageous...
I can do a standard alignment but money is tight...
everyone wants an extra three inches lol

if I do it I want to test fit those 35's....... Wink wink

Depends on how big the spacers are Will. I was able to get my alignment back within specs without a camber kit when I had 1.75/1.5 BTF spacers

They're 2.25/1.75... I may just do them and see how close to spec I can get it...
I have a shop I trust to do a good alignment (was doing My 04 taurus and everybody else said I needed camber kits for rear and these guys had no problems getting it in spec without them)

Cool...can't wait to see how it comes out if you decide to give it a try.

You can always take them back off if you have to.

I'm only torn on installing because I'd have to get the lifetime alignment seeing as sometime early 2013 I plan to install my gears which would require pulling all of my cv axles...thus requiring another alignment...
unless.... I don't wait the warranty period of the alignment and just take it in after my gears and say it just doesn't feel right... Idk...

You know you want to install those things now. They can't just sit there idle. I say go for it.

I am hoping to be able to make the trip. I got my X running again this past weekend. I still need to get the steering issues resolved and get it inspected.

I could take my Ranger, so we will see.

well you wont be the only ranger if you do lol

i almost wouldve not made it last night. battery crapped out. but luckily i didnt have to buy one, just borrowed it from my exploder. valuecraft ftw lol

no will, that does not mean i dont have that spare battery anymore. i still got that one to if brandon needs it still.

Nice! Almost 100 replies and we are still over a month out. This is going to be a good trip. May have to find a portable heater!

Lol.i just bought one.its call the big buddy.got it online from northern tool.think i paid $125 but i had it shipped to the store.they make tfree models .i bought the biggest model.it takes two 1lbs tanks or a 20lb tank.im bringing a 20lb tank.puts out like 15or 18,000 btu .its freakn HOT!!one thing about fish foods is its right above the river on the side of the mountain.it drops about 20* or more at night and the dew/fog is really heavy.you need heat and rain cover for your tents.it was cold at night last trip and that was summer,we could see our breath at night.

I'm going to have to test my tent for rain cover. Had a leak somewhere last time i used it, or the rain sheild was just on wrong!
