im sure there has been at least one post like this already, but i want to do some tasteful(and some extreme) upgrades to my explorer. does anyone have the mac cat back system? i have always loved the sound of mac and im highly considering putting it on my truck. also i want to get some gloss black rims and a lift to get bigger tires underneath. also looking to add an intake, forged internals and a nitrous setup.and pretty much any good, worth doing bolt on. if anyone has any input on what would be good upgrades to make my explorer sport sound and look great, please i am looking for input. my vehicle is currently stock and looking for upgrades :) thanks for everyone that chips in with their 2 cents!

i got an 01 sport like u and i did some mods but i wanna do lots more. I did like single in and dual out 40 series flowmasters and high flow k&n air filter and removed the silencer and put yellow fogs and lowered the windshield wipers.

i was thinking u should put like exhaust and intake and sct tune it and maybe headers and a clear corners and put hids and put like euro talights and maybe a new grill and system and some other ideas.

how did you lower the windshield wipers and where did u get the yellow fogs?

my friend lowered the wipers and i just put yellow window film over my stock fogs eventually i wanna put the 3,000k hids for my fogs and 8,000k hids for my headlights but what u think of my sport

i like the way it sounds, i wanna do the hid's as well, fogs and heads, if you can find out how he lowered the wipers lmk cause i'd like to do it as well.

I assume by lowering the wipers you moved the lower toward the cowling. It's very simple to do. Pull the wiper arm up then on the base there is a little tab that can be pulled out and when it's pulled you can pull the whole wiper arm off and change how far up the blade sits on the windshield. It's very easy and can take pics if you need.

What do you mean when you say you removed the silencer?

03explorerspt can you please take pics i cant figure it out lol

What is the silencer's purpose? Does it affect the sound of the horn, as the picture said "air horn/silencer" or something else.

I have no idea, you might be better off posting that question in the thread i linked to.

All the wiper thing is, is removing the wiper arm from the vehicle and resetting it onto the wiper shaft so when the wiper reaches the bottom of it's sweep when turned off, they sit against the cowl, not raised up a little on the windshield. It's just an appearance thing.

When air comes into the intake for the engine, the silencer quiets the noise of the air flow. Some like to remove it so the engine sounds more agressive. That's the air horn, it doesn't have anything to do with the horn.
