Water in rear hatch / liftgate

I have a 2023 Ford Expedition Limited and each time it rains or I do a car wash water comes out of the Button area housing and it’s a heavy drip and there seems to be more around the plastic trim.

I took it to ford my suv is barely a year old and they claimed it was a loose button but now it happened again. So I am taking it back. I’m worried about Mold in there.

Anyone else have water in that area?
Hi, sending you a You Tube link to a Chicago Area Ford Master Mechanic who explains the issue you are experiencing and solutions to solve.

Hope this helps!

Welcome to the Forum.
Some members have had water issues in the rear liftgate area but none were traced to the the button. I'm not sure if the Explorer and Expedition have the same setup.
You might try posting in the Expedition forum to see if others have encountered this issue. Ford Expedition and F-150 Forum
