Hi, you guys have been helpful before when my tranny blew... Anyhow, got it rebuilt with all new soft parts and a new second gear which had fused and broke.

Got the car back rebuilt with an aftermarket carquest clutch.

from the first day, my car was grinding when I tried to go into first. then that went away. after a week i found that it was hard getting into first gear from a dead stop. i had to wiggle the shifter a little back and forth and then it went into gear. now, it won't go into gear sometimes and i have to go to fourth first, then to first... only at a dead stop. shifting is fine if i'm moving. when this is happening, it is also hard to go into 2nd and 3rd too. but sometimes it's fine....

here is the weird thing, it happens 3 out of 4 times, not everytime. and, if i keep the car in gear with the clutch down waiting at a red light the clutch sometimes grabs really low and sometimes high. as if it is losing pressure.

we checked the hydraulic line and bled it a few times.. clutch feels good.

What could this be? it is really hard to get it into gear! took it back to the shop and the mechanic is scratching his head.. says i need to bring it next week and leave it, and he needs to do research.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the synchros are bad. This shouldnt be the case if the tranny was rebuilt though.... Did you have a reliable shop do this for you..? I would take it back and have them look at it, that is if it came with a warranty.
