to show my buddy the 99 limited and saw another explorer that was in my price range a lil more..

97 v8 EB AWD white with gold trim
74k miles
tan leather
power everything
sun roof
message center comuter things
premium sounds etc....

car is in damn good condition except for the lsightly worn leather and also a lil bit of black trim paint is faded.....

they are asking $16500
i could probably talk em down to 14.5 ish area
what do you guys think?

That is high, according to Edmunds it's worth about $12,800 dealer retail and trade-in is $9,400.

If they are asking $16,500 they didn't pay anymore than $9,000 for it. Probably closer to $8,000. Your target price should be around $11,000.

love the stang. most of the time.
its been gettin on my nerve latly though. i have some weird suspension problem that i cant figure out.
im thinking its just my bald tires though. so im waitin to get those on to see if that fixes it.

yeh i really want another explorer though.
driving the stang all winter will suck.

no just rains alot in the winter.....
but i do go up to the mountains alot, and cant with the stang....
id rather not go to the snow then deal with snow chains

yeh it feels like someone stole my struts and replaced em with 2x4's
the ride is really bumpy

i put new shocks in the rear like 2 months ago.
and within the last 2 weeks the ride quality went to crap.....

i had the same problem with the old explorer.
it ended up being sway bar links
ive yet to get under the stang and check em out yet though...

also my throw out bearing is crap....

and i have a million and one rattles in my car.....
drives me nuts....

Did you replace all 4 shocks in the rear?How are the torque boxes?Do you beat it?How are your lower control arms?

hehe no i only replaced the 2 main struts....
havnt checked the cross shocks yet....
or anything else for that matter....
like i said im sure ill figure it out when i actualy get under there and look at it....


right now my attention is going towards a new explorer though.....

Plus you basically have to go to the dealer to get the horizontal shocks--around $125...
