Transmission is acting up no D or R , I figured I'd pull the pan anyway. Can anyone give me an indication of what the brass shavings are and that black metal strip . My guess the brass is from solenoid block
Solenoids won't make debris so you can rule that out.
A failed input sprag will create metal debris and brass debris, it's also the most common reason this transmission loses reverse and drive, manual 2nd and manual 1 should still make the transmission move forward.
