Hey all,

I was listening to this guy I know's system in his car today, and its LOUD. Coming home from school on the bus, I can hear his car over everyone talking, the bus engine, and from at least 3 cars away. And it sounds good too, clean. Well he stopped by to pick up a sub box I made and he showed it to me. Its 3 10's in a sealed box. Two of the subs are just plain black, but over to one side it says 'Blues' in this cursive type font, and its a light blue color. Does anybody know what brand this is? Or is Blues the brand? I figured that was just the model of it. All the subs seem a few years old and look like they've seen better days, but they still work great. The other sub is a RF Series 1. He claims he's getting all the bump form the two Blues. I was just curious as to what brand this might be, since I pulled them out and looked all over for a name. Thanks,

Grant

its not always the subs... blues sounds like a jcwh*tney brand to me.. and no offense to you rockford guys, but that stuff is kinda crappy in my opinion. What kind of car does he drive? I know a guy with a C5 corvette with one 15" Stroker in the back and it's not extremely loud untill u get in... then it becomes almost unbearable... maybe his car is just poorly insulated... thus its loud as hell outside

I seem to remember the Blues name from about ten years ago in car audio, like around the late 80s/early 90s. I seem to remember them as being a pretty good brand, but they have since disappeared.

peace

His car is a 70's or so Grand Prix. When he has the whole thing turned up a fairly loud, certain parts of the car will vibrate a little, but its nothing too noticeable.

I ran a search on the Blues and couldnt find anything. But yes, they do seem a few years old, but still work GREAT. I'm very impressed with them. He says the Rockford sub is running a different ohm so its just sort of setting there. He says the two Blues are giving him all the bass. We traded around some yesterday. He got my two Sony XPlod 12's and I got those three 10's in a box with the terminal wires, carpet and glue for the box, plus 30 dollars to boot, so I got a nice deal. Even if the subs are old, they work good. And he's going to help me install all my stuff in the X. I'm going to make him a nice box for the 12's in return for the install help and for cutting me a nice deal.

Also, sometime in the next few days I will be receiving a Q-logic truck box and a rinky-dink 200 watt Jensen amp in return for a previous box I made. Some things I will sell, things I dont really need, theres always someone around who wants to buy something. I'm getting into trading stuff like that now, its fun :)

good thing u got rid of the Xpolds... those things sucks ass!

He said they worked good, but that they kept blowing fuses. He said he still had to figure out which way to rig up the amp for those particular subs, or something like that.

Are they the old Blue Thunder subs from MTX?

No, I dont think it is. These say 'Blues' on them instead of Blue or Blue Thunder. It might be though, if them Blue Thunder subs are a few years old. There isnt any stickers on them anywhere, theres just like the serial number and a few other numbers stamped here and there.

Nope, Blues was different from the Blue Thunder line from MTX. If you can wait until Christmas when I'm back in Cali, I can look them up in my old Car Audio and Electronics magazines, lol.

peace

Mike

I also remember these speakers from back in the early 90's. If I remember correctly this was a line/brand of speakers that was a division of Stillwater Designs aka Kicker.
