Ok, I know nothing about mechanics so I have to ask this. I took my ex into the dealership for service, only because i had a coupon. I went in for a tire rotation and a multipoint inspection. When I got my ex back I immediately noticed that it was running a lot smoother. The enginge shaking had stopped. I didn't requested any work to be done on the engine so I am not sure what they did. Do you have any idea?

Also, what is that ticking sound, every few seconds i hear a click what is making the click sound?

is it rpm related or tire related tick?....it could be as simple as a rock int he tire tread or as anoying as a bad berring.

No its from the engine, it makes a click even when idling every few seconds i hear a click. i believe it has something to do with rpm

Sounds like the clicking in of The AC compressor.

Which would also raise your idle. Maybe that's why it appears to have a smoother idle.

They may have found a loose vacuum line and reconnected it, thus a smoother idle. I'm sure they didn't do too much, or else you would have been charged for it.

These multi point inspections that dealers offer are nothing special. Usually includes checking and filling fluids that are low(break,ps,wiper, coolant) checking lights sometimes they will visually inspect break pads and rotors. These are basic checks that any owner can make in his/her own driveway. What the dealerships are looking for is a simple thing they can fix that will cost you money in labor. If you are not mechanicly inclined these are a good service but I would just write down what they told you may be wrong and have it repaired by a mechanic you trust.

I think marragtop hit on it. My 93 will backfire everyonce in a while and blow one of the vacuum lines off the multi port. When this happens, the RPM's go up to 1100 or 1200 and idles rough. Put the hose back on and engine goes back to normal.
