I recently had the ABS light come on and have been having a weird growl/grind/hum coming from the front end so I decided to replace the front hub assemblies.
Once I got the truck into the garage and on 4 jack stands I figured why just do the wheel hubs, may as well do some maintenance so I did the following today...
1) Front Wheel Hub Assemblies
2) Drained Transfer Case - Filled with B&M Synthetic Trick Shift ATF
3) Drained Rear Diff - Filled with Royal Purple Synthetic 75w140 Gear Oil
4) Dropped Rear Driveshaft and greased slip shaft (no more clunk
)
5) New Energy Suspension Front End Links (passenger side was missing)
6) Drained Power Steering Fluid - Filled with B&M Synthetic Trick Shift ATF
7) Replaced all four shocks with KYB GR-2's - Excellent ride now
The only real PITA was replacing the rear shocks, 2hrs to remove the old ones and 15 minutes to put the new ones on
. Other than that is was an enjoyable day in the garage and the truck drives SO much better now.
So what did you do this weekend?
