I mean, please ladies, help me/us out! Me and my boys, we make our christmas list, but my wife and my boy's mom (which happens to be the same person ;) ) doesn't. She says, that if we truely love her as much as we say we do, we are supposed to know what she wants without her making a list. I think that's not fair :fire:

So I'm asking for help here, for some good ideas: the perfect gift idea (without that I have to apply for a second mortgage)

Your help is greatly appreciated :D

P.S. The things on my list are a baseball hat, a tie (I'm not kidding) and a jig-saw, but the other day, my wife asked again what shoe size I'm wearing. I'm now somewhat confused: isn't now she supposed to know that and, why on earth do you need to know the shoe size for buying a jig-saw  ;)

Hmm. Does she have a nice jacket? Like leather?

Diamonds. Always a winner. Like an eternity ring. Or earrings. http://www.helzberg.com/

Nice new bedding? Like the whole thing--sheets, comforter, etc?

Just don't get her a vacuum or similar. No matter how much she says it will be all right if you do, it'll end up baaad. :)

so a new dishwasher, despite the high cost, isn't the perfect christmas present? Hmm no wonder i"m still single... LOL j/k.
BTW I think diamonds should automatically be knocked off hte list, all guys know women want them, thats no mystery. The fact that they are several thousand dollars for a piece of rock that is so unbelievably tiny is the mystery. I can see myself now "honey for $2000 I can get you one tiny little diamond, or a whole backyard full of granite, which would you prefer?" :)

LOL Matt, Matt, Matt.... That will all change someday when you meet the woman of your dreams. :D Honestly I used to think that way however I wanted more then just me me me in my life... :D Trust me bud it will change if you meet the right woman. If you care enough about someone its not the thing that you get them its more the thought.

Its more that you get her something that you think up and you know may not be the perfect thing but is the one thing that you know she will be all thankfull for since it came from the heart. What I would do is take your boy through the stores and see if he sees anything mom might want. Get that to go from him and then do the same thing for yourself. Its intresting what you might find out there. :) Just think about her tastes and what she uses to decorate and go off from those lines. I can get really creative here. :D

Good point... at times... I do take quantity over quality :) and look at it this way... if your back yard is big enough... and ya get enough you can rock crawl in the back yard! So, this present would be the best for both! :)

I guess I'm not that far off; a new bedding I gave her/us (I'm sleeping in the same bed ;) ) for our wedding anniversary, a neckless (sp) with a matching ring for her birthday and a leather jacket in between for the Holy St. Sales Day celebration. (well, she found the jacket, I just had to say "Yes Honey" :D)

Thinking about it, she mentioned something like "perls" the other day, I wonder what that means :p Maybe Victoria's Secret could also be a good idea, even though it is hard to tell who likes those gifts better, she or me

Matt, I know where you are coming from! I also was wondering if a set of nice, shiny BF Goodrich MTs could not qualify as "ring". I mean, both are round with a hole in the middle, and after a trip over a gravel road, there will even be some stones decorating the wonderfully esthetic profile ...

Owie...

Too pitiful...comon guys, you don't have a clue? Watch TV w/ her, and wait for her little, "hmmm..."

Safe gifts: digital cameras, digital video cameras, gift certificates to have hair/nails/tans done or to buy clothes/shoes...tickets to go see something cool (not a movie)...I could think of a million things...

If she is A-Typical like me, she wants neat stuff for her ride :) (hope my husband reads this! lol)

Leebo, that posts seems funny for two reasons:
1) you found a woman to put up with you and
2) your spending that much money to keep her around.
LOL j/k. It's no wonder I'm single right? LOL

Ha, we've been together for about 2 years now. She's in Ohio taking care of her parents, and I'll be there soon too.

Besides, I can think of a few other reasons why you're still single. :mattmoon:

One simple warning--

No appliances unless specifically asked for. If she asks for one, fine. Otherwise, don't assume that just because she would like a knew blender/washer/whatever that it means she wants one for Christmas/birthday/anniversary/etc. Unless, of course, you want to sleep down the hall and suffer loss of "priveleges"

(Mom taught her girls well)

Also, stay away from candy unless you know she DEFINITELY wants it. Most women feel fat around the holidays and it doesn't help that we're usually trying to fit into some new skimpy outfit.

Flowers are usually a good one, but don't make it the only gift.

Maybe, I shouldn't give advice I don't like the things most girls like.

Actually, my husband and I shop together at Sears in the tool department. For the past 2-3 years I have gotten a new tool kit for my birthday, but I asked for them. I hate waiting for men to get around to fixing things. In fact, I just made Rick buy me a new jack for my car. The stock jack sucked and the car fell off it! How retarded can a manufacturer be? Oh, wait I forgot about Ford. Retract my question. :D

LMAO! That reminds me of the time when Rick was telling me about this certain camaro that he had rotate the tires on and it was soooo low to the ground he couldn't get the jack under it or something. I think he traded it in on a REAL vehicle! :p :p :p :p

HA HA! :)

Except for that last paragraph, man you are doing good! :)

I got something like this last year, but with some roses it in and a basket I could use later. I got it a few days before Christmas and it was just awesome. Made the house smell great, and it made me feel reeeeally special. ;)

When in doubt get her a big basket of fancy soaps or a bunch of fancy candles. Women love that kind of stuff and they think you are being thoughtful when they get it.

<whispered under breath> ...If only they knew that it was an emergency "I have no clue what to give her" gift.

Shhhhh...

I just told Rick I wanted a day at the spa. I'm going to get a price list for him and put stars next to the packages I like. Believe me though, she will appreciate it no matter which package you get her. Even us, tomboys like being pampered on occasion. :D
