Got to 186,000 miles before losing the timing chain guides.

Bought a new Ford OEM rebuilt 4.0 SOHC. Getting ready to drop it in and plan to replace a bunch of hoses and such. Radiator seems to have a small leak so I'll replace that.

I have never touched the transmission or transfer case. Never replaced much except for Brakes, Starter, Alternator, Battery.

Is there anything this group would definitely replace as long as your replacing an engine?

Thanks

Change the Starter and wires to it (if old or worn) and serpentine belt and plan on evacuating and recharging your AC system during the engine R&R. Check your motor mounts and old exhaust manifold to see if they are still good and re-useable. I would do a tranny tune-up (filter and trans pan fluid change only-no full flush with your high miles) and change the fluid in the diff's and transfer case. New plug's and wires of course with a new motor.

Change the front diff fluid, service trans, look at front trans (input shaft) and inspect gasket for any seaping, new O2 sensors, new fuel lines, new water hoses, flush power stearing fluid.
