Wanting to get a stainless tip. I can't stand the way the stock tailpipe looks. Whoever had the Ex before me sprayed it black so at least it's not rusty.

So I would just like to add something subtle.
Greyhound Performance has Magnaflow tips for pretty cheap but I am a fan of Thermal Research as well.
Guess I need to figure out which cut to go with.
Kind of leaning towards the Magnaflow:
15 Degree Rolled Edge with the following dimensions
3" Diameter
2.5" I.D. Inlet
18" Length
MF35111

Greyhound has it for $42 doubt I will be able to get a Thermal Research for that. So since it's strictly cosmetic will probably stay on the cheapside.

Went ahead and ordered it.
Actually found it at a local shop for a few dollars cheaper and don't have to pay shipping:D

Think I would have preferred the Thermal Research piece but they don't really have one in the length that I want.

i actually used a $5.00 slash tip i bought 2 years ago, just recently got A spot of rust on it, shinend it regularly w/ some WD40 and it lasted with just 2 screws! Until now its been great but i'ma about to put my flowmaster on so i'ma go w/ one of their tips. sry no pic

be sure to post pics of it when u get it installed

i cut the tip where it turns to go straight back and added the 3 1/2'' chrome magnaflow... doesnt look chrome but it is under all that dirt haha

I just cut mine down some, because the stock one hung down a fair amount. It occasionally would drag, so I just shortened it up a bit. No tip, just paint so it doesn't looks ****ty and rusted out.

I wish it was a v8..i have the v6  ..kills me w. gas, i rather have a v8 w/ some power and waste gas than a v6 w/ no power and waste gas

will do, can't wait to get home from school - its gonna be a good summer ha

My cherrybomb cat-back came with a chromed tip welded to it.

It looks good enough, however the chrome is starting to turn a bit of a different shade already.

Put it on today.
Well worth it in my opinion.

I just picked one up also.. it didnt come with any screws or mounting materials. There IS a hole on the underside towards the tip closest to the bumper but thats it... Am I supposed to have this welded? If so, what if it starts to dull and I want to replace it?

Welding is always the way to go.

what if it starts to dull and I want to replace it?

Quality stainless will last and last. If it tarnishes just cut it off and get another one.

Good luck ....

that hole is a drip hole to keep out water since the edge is rolled... thats the only way for water to get out... leave it welded and keep it clean and ull be good... if it does tarnish, a little steel wool and some heavy duty cleaner should do it

while doing a search for exhaust in this forum last night I found some cool threads about the FLOWMASTER 40's, some links to youtube with trucks that had it done. Im impressed with the sound.

How much does a mechanic charge to install one of these? Im thinking now I'll get the muffler also - lol. Im SUCH a Toys R Us kid...
