What is this part called and what does it do?

I ve been trying to surf the web to find what this part is and what it does but i cant find anything on it. it's prob a dumb question but i m lost.




the part i m talking about is the metal cylinder right below the ignition coil it is located on the same bracket as the coil pack. and has 2 wires coming out of it. thank you very much for your help.

Radio interference suppression capacitor

I'm not familiar with your engine but based on the part's location and electrical connection I suspect it is the capacitor that suppresses ignition interference to the radio.

Ok thank you, it was rusted and i figured maybe it would have been wise to replace it, but I dont know if I would make any difference.
