I recently bought a low mile 1994 explorer, but have been a Ranger owner for years,my question is,I am installing a overhead console into the explorer and in wiring it up I noticed an unused 6 conductor plug with a pink tape wrap on it(behind the parking brake) is this plug (or pigtail)for the overhead console?? Thanks.

Is the plug flat? It could be for the clutch interlock switch. They put them on auto and man explorers but the auto's are capped off. If your not sure then remove the cap and try and start your truck if it doesnt crank then its the clutch interlock switch connector.

Thats it.

I tried it and that is the plug for the clutch interlock.Thanks.
