DS or Pass Side? Can you shoot me a picture of what is near by? I totally gutted mine, taking photos and I have all the wireing diagrams so I should be able to find out for you... Bottom line, if you didn't un plug it and everything is working, No Big Deal...

Remote Keyless entry reprogramming

I am pretty sure that is the plug that I shorted with the key on or in acc to reprogram the key fob for the door locks.
turn the key to acc or on, then use a shorting wire to touch the two contacts momentarily. the doors will lock and then unlock to tell you it is in programming mode, then push any button on one key fob and the doors will again lock and then unlock, repeat for up to 5 key fobs. when done, turn the key off and the doors will all lock and unlock and the programming of the key fobs is done.

Ok thats what I was thinking too Just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything to do with the back up lights as I'm having issues with them.

Yep- none of the trucks I saw had anything plugged in.

Ok that makes me feel a lot better just trying to get Snowball ready for all trips to college and back home. One less thing to worry about and helps when I buy some new keyless remotes.

can you program any ford key fob with this or is it gen specific?

Yep that was the name that was given to her and it seams pretty fitting. You've got some great How-To's by the way my favorite is the rust stain remover. I never would have thought that would work and not hurt the window.

I only mention the name because of my last Ex... (see my sig line) :D

Thanks for the kind word- I'm into filming or taking pics now whenever I fix something that everyone asks about...

Ya I have read some of the Forums dealing with Snowball I like the Texas Tissue Holder lol. And all the pictures and how-to's from people on this forum have helped me greatly makes things a lot easier than figuring it out my self and I get to learn from others mistakes.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know where this plug that needs to be shorted is on a '92 Explorer Sport? I've searched all around the Jack and all that I find is the wires for the washer pump and the cables for the 4X4 brain. Nothing around the jack.
Thanks,
~Steve

It's probably not there. I think they started adding it in 93; Not positive on that though.

How do you know it has an alarm system?
