I have a 91 explorer 4.0 there is a red plug on pass side. It's round with 4wires and is on wiring harness that comes from computer. I can't find what it hooks up to coming from the motor. What does it go to??? Thanks

What color are the wires? Is if for your MAF?

Sounds like one I have on my base model 91. It's hanging below the power distribution block, kinda near where the EEC-IV test port is. It looks like one of the connectors going to a relay. I'm guessing it goes to the AC clutch or system since mine's long gone. That or it's just a leftover connector for power windows or... something not in my base model.

I have pics and tried to upload it got msg pic was too big . Trying to resize it . I'm in Indy motor is in NC I'll get wire colors sat. it's not the test port .it has a post on it to attach it to fender . Thanks for the help.

Do your ABS brakes work? I think the connector for that is round if you look at it from the top.

The only two connectors on mine that attach to the fender on the passenger side are in front of the airbox. There's a white one which is computer ground, going straight to the battery and then another, which might be red, now that I'm thinking of it. No idea where it goes though.

If is in front of the airbox, you should take the air intake tube off and remove the battery to get a better look at things. I don't have any pictures of that area but I'll try to take a look tomorrow and see if I learn anything for ya.
