I've got a '93 Eddie Bauer with the 4.0 and A4LD and electronic shift 4x4. It's bone stock other than a bunch of stickers and the WAR153 shackles. I have a rough country lift for it in my garage along with some 33" Mud Terrains. However, I don't have a place to put the lift on right now, and won't for awhile since I am constantly moving in and out of houses. What are some mods that I can do to make it look better? I don't like driving a stock Explorer, it's too boring haha. Any feedback is appreciated!

Instead of paying for mods that you aren't even sure you want (assumed because you don't even know what they are yet), why don't you just pay someone to install the lift and tires?

That is what I would love to do, however I really don't have the money for that. Well, I don't know that for a fact considering I don't know how much it would be, but I've just been assuming it would be expensive based on things I have heard. And I'm working part time at a bicycle shop, so I dont have much money.

Are you looking to do really, really cheap mods, or free mods? Most things you can do are going to cost a couple hundred dollars, at least. That's why I figured you might as well spend it on the lift.

I don't know enough about the 1st gen to recommend anything. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Got any pictures as it sits now?

I could list dozens of mods for a first gen, but all of them will cost some money. A good cheap upgrade is the manual hub conversion. The hubs you can get off of eBay and the changeover kit you can get from 4wheel parts for $20. There is a sticky about your 4x4 hubs in the modified first gen section.

You can also do a bunch of cosmetic stuff, some interior neons look really nice if you have a leather interior, i just recently took my roof racks off make it a tad different then any other road going explorer and plan on Painting the Ford on the rear like the old Trucks. all of these are either free or at most 20-25$

I appreciate all the help! I mostly want to do some cosmetic stuff for now, and manual hubs are definitely pretty high up on my list of things to do. I will upload a picture of how it sits now to just get some feedback on it. It's in really good shape for the most part, like the paints still good. I took my roof racks off as well, I don't think anyone but me has noticed. This is how it sits now (clean for a change)

it looks like your lights are a bit foggy polishing them would help make it look nicer and help ya see at night that and a set of new bulbs i used a 10$ kit from turtle wax and a sales associate helped me out with the bulbs at my local autozone, ofcourse if its already done then

I actually just did that today!! Except I learned a very nice trick from my friend, just wipe it with transmission fluid!! It wont clean it up like an actual cleaner, but it worked!

Brake fluid works well too. You need to let the lens dry before you touch them though. I leard this when I dropped some on the lens of a car I once had.

Kinda looks like mine w/o the roof rack. I debated on putting one on then looked the people that had them then removed them so I decided to leave my roof alone.

I also spotted that your truck has been in Missouri at one point in it's life... I saw the Missouri inspection sticker.

I definitely like the black sport grill over the chrome.
