I need a new starter and I'm not sure what I should stay away from, or a decent brand to get.
Any recommedations?

well, if it were me i'd get an AutoZone Duralast reman with the lifetime guaranty. you can spend a lot more money and/or buy a brand new one, but i wouldn't spend anymore than necessary on a starter. not exactly a high tech kind of item... jmho

edit: actually, AutoZone's brand new starter is only $20 more than their premium reman, but i'd still buy the reman.

Reman units last just as long as a new one. Same thing, in an old, cleaned up starter case.
