What shocks will work for a 95 Limited? Mine has the air ride suspension so I dont know what to use since it keeps raising and lowering itself. Its got those dang Firestones on it still, so I need something to smooth out the ride... :)

Bump

Just curious, I posted this awhile back, and I've noticed several 95+ Explorer Limited owners have joined since I posted this, and I'm sure that they have more experience at this than I do. Since I posted this last the Firestones have been replaced with BFG's, so dont worry bout that :D I dont know if I can use regular shocks or special ones. Thanks!

Wait, I just thought of something. The shocks have nothing to do with the air suspension, do they? If its airbag lifts, then they should be mounted to the leafs above or below the axle. Just like in the Explorer Express book, it has a good picture. So that means I could just put regular shocks on like everyone else does, right?

Limited Air SHOCKS

Sorry but the 95 Limited uses Air Shocks all the way around. They are an adaptation from the Mark VIII which used air springs and standard shocks. No air bags, and no air springs here though. So thus far you have to get replacements from Ford. Explorer Express says Monroe does not make an "air shock system" and they don't know about other shock makers. I am in search of air shocks to replace my worn out leaking factory motorcraps too. I'll post again as soon as I can find a replacement.
