New to the site, I've had my explorer for about two weeks now. The first week it spent in my driveway with a dead starter (died after I drove it home from where I purchased it).
Last night the brake line feeding the rear end rusted apart just before leaving work. I'm hoping someone who has replaced it before can tell me what size I need to purchase.

thanks for all the help

Tool cold out to go crawl under mine, but my guess would be 3/16" line, standard U.S. double flare. The vast majority of domestic vehicles use 3/16" hard line. The exceptions would be bigger pickups. For instance, my '80 Chevy K20 4x4 (8200lb GVW) uses 1/4" hard line for the gigantic 13"x2-1/2" rear brakes.

Of course, you could always take a piece of the old line with you to the parts store.
