What size speakers are in my doors?

i replaced my factory stereo (display crapped out, of course) with a new Jensen DIN head unit (no amp) and scosche dash kit. fits like a charm, but the front DOOR PANEL factory speakers now sound like they have a blanket tossed over them. VERY little high end, even with the treble maxed out. this head unit is not a real expensive one, so i dont expect the world from it, but if i buy better speakers, would it make a difference? what size are these door panel speakers? i went to crutchfield.com and they have a tool to help you select what size speaker you need, but it came up with 5 1/4", 5x7" or 6x8" (???)

The speakers are 5"x7"s but 6"x8"s will fit in them with no problem.

technically they are 6x8's, however that is really just a little bit of a plus sized 5x7.
