It would be really cool to have a map of the US&CAN/World with a little dot for everyone where they are located. Or a list by city, state.

My guess would either be Colorado or Michigan. And I say Michigan just because Detroit is there and of course more people there will buy domestic vehicles.

I say TEXAS. Just because were a huge state.

I betcha its all pretty close in the states with major cities. However I think there are probably more out west. So I betcha Colorado or California has to be one of the top states.

I betcha it's not Mississippi! Half of our population is probably too poor to afford one & actually maintain one. They definitely don't believe in TLC for a vehicle around here. In fact the ones that can afford one seem to keep moving out of Mississppi as all of the good jobs aren't here.

PA would be somewhere in the middle. The top ones like Ryan said, should be colorado and cali.

I bet there are over 300 in my Town of 25000:D

Per capita or per square footage?

I mean CA has a ton of people so there are probably more in CA then there are in Wyoming just because of population. But 1 in 5 people in Wyoming may own a Explorer where only 1 in 25 in CA have an Explorer, so it's a loaded question.

However I can tell you people in CO all have 4x4's. You have never seen so many damn Subaru's, SUV's, and trucks, the full size guys (Excursions, etc....) are taking over out here......

At any one time, if I'm stopped at a light I can probably count 10-15 Explorer's and Rangers out here.......

There are a ton of Explorer's in the Denver area. I have also noticed that ALOT of people are starting to lift their early model Explorer's out here, it used to be you would see one or two a week, now I see one or two a day....

Oh and the bone yards are so full of 80's Rangers and BII's that they quit buying them from auctions!! Explorer's are showing up more too....

JJUE I know what you mean. I lived in Jackson for 2.5 years. I had to get out quickly also.

detroit has the most probably since they are built there.

I wonder if there is a way to find out.

Oh and are we including Navajo's and Mountaineers?

I thought the Explorer was built at Ford's Louisville, Kentucky plant?

It is.....

I think there's like 3 locations that build/built the Explorer/Mountaineer/Aviator/Navajo. IIRC, mine ( '93) was built in STL.

Also, judging by the # of members here & where they live...I would say Texas and Colorado have the most. Maybe Arizona, too...

according to my vin, mine was built in kentucky....and i think california has the most explorers...... probably becuase we are a big state, and partly becuase ca is such an expensive state to live in that the wages are higher and people can more easily afford big trucks.... we have 2 explorers and 1 ranger in my family of 4

Okay, never mind, I am retarded...Louisville, KY for me.

VIN Decoder: Dead Link Removed

I could have sworn that STL built Explorers...

Actually St. Louis builds them also, at least they were.
The Explorer was built exclusively here in Louisville til a few years back when they were selling the crap out of them, then they also decided to build them in St. Louis also and I believe they still are.

But my vote is for Louisville, because I pass the plant everyday and there is always thousands sitting in their holding lot and they also have another holding lot down the road from that that has thousands more. So at any given time there are more Explorers in Louisville Ky than anywhere else. :)
