Hey all, I am in a quandry. I had a 91 explorer gave to me and i want to build a trail rig out of it. It has been sitting for ten years so it needs some (lot) of work. It has the 4.0 with a4ld trans and push button t-case. It ran fine when parked but do you think it would be worth getting running again. If I'm going to have to overhaul everything to make it reliable then I will go another route. That route is I also have a 77 f150 4x4 frame with a 390, c6 and 205 t-case. I'm thinking SAS no matter what. I even thought about dropping the ex on the f150 frame (shortened).
I have a family of 4 so building a standard cab truck is out. I can fab and build no problem I just dont want to waste any time fixing exploder drivetrain problems if it's gonna be crap anyway. What do you think?
