- 1999 Ford Ranger
Greetings, I'm new to the board, but I have been monitoring things for a while.
I am in the process of converting a 2wd 1999 flex ranger that had a 3.0 v6 to a 1999 explorer 5.0 auto swap.
Reading the posted articles seem to be vary straight forward regarding the swap. I have the entire vehicle w/ pats and both ECMs.
My question is what will i have to do to get around the flex fuel sensor? I was just going to leave it alone, and hop for the best. I realize that the explorer ECM is a simple swap out for my ranger, but will it work with out setting a check engine code? I live in NW Indiana and we have obd2 emission testing.
Also will I have to use the explorer fuel tank sending unit, I figured this was a necessity because of the fuel regulator that is specific to the 1999 5.0 explorer.
I'm sure I will have o the questions about this swap, that will come in time.
Thanks in advance.
