To run 18 or 20 inch rims what do I need to look for - I know the X is a 5 x 4.5" bolt pattern but what widths of rims will work well, what offsets are good, if the offset is wrong can I put in spacers to change it. The tires will be the same (or close to) the dia of the stock tires,
I will be running at stock height and want to avoid trimming or steering problems.

These are the rims I'm heading towards, hopefully they will work. They are going on a 2wd 96 sport.

stock 15 x 7 has 0 offset. so figure 18 or 20 x 8 with 0 offset would work just fine. call up explorer express see if they would give you the offset on their cobra wheels.

Hey just from personal experience, go with 20s they wont look too big (it seems like a lot of people are worried it will look ghetto). I swear I look at my 20s sometimes and think they are too small rather than too large. So I know if I had gotten 18s, I woulda been upset that I didn't buy the 20s. Also, you might want to look for more of a true truck style rim than those (just my opinion, if you really like em' ignore me ;)).

My rims are 20X8.5 with 38mm offset. So if you want to get an idea what that looks like, take a look at my sounddomain page. People have been saying that spacers are bad for your vehicle but I don't really know enough about that to say for sure. Its just what I recall reading somewhere. Hopefully someone who is a bit more knowledgable than me can fill you in some more.

People worry about offsets too much. As long as the rim has a RWD offset, it will work fine. I wouldn't go wider than 20x9, or else you'll have rubbing (ask me how I know).

How do you know? :)

I have 20x10s and they weren't "bolt on" ;)
