what tranny do i have?

Do I have a 4r70W? What are good mods for firmer shifts etc... I've seen a trans-go shift kit for $85 on ebay.... any good lil secret mods i can do.... (ex in my Caprice i had a 700r4, if I placed a corvette servo in it for like $15 it gave me a firmer 1-2 shift)

I'd suggest you might start by reading the 4R70 W Rebuild Diary in the stickies section. There are anumber of things you can do to the 4R70W.... and they are all discussed, with pictures, in that Diary. It is not done but it will give you an idea.

Without pulling the trans, doing a J mod on the VB and adding a shift kit would be your best bet. If it has the 2.5" OD servo in it you could upgrade that to 2.7" at the same time, and maybe fiddle with your accumulators. Depending on mileage that would be a good time to replace your EPC as well.

Alright, thanks I was just double checking to made sure I had the 4r70W, I hate wasting time looking up pointless parts for a tranny I don't have, lol.
