I want to add some lower end to my 95 explorer XLT. I use my tuck to transport my drums and need all the interior space as is so a sub enclosure is not a good option. What was available as far as factory sub enclosures and where were they installed on this truck that I might find at a junk yard?

Here is a pic of a 91-94 OEM enclosure I got from a junkyard. The factory amps are removed in this pic. The opening was enlarged to accept a larger sub.

So the factory enclosure in not a self contained enclosure that fits into the side but rather is just a front panel and the existing plastic side panel become the enclosure?

By the way, here are pics of the system I put in my other car. You may enjoy

It is an enclosure, it goes behind the rear right panel, where you currently have a net

I have a JL stealth box with a JL w1v2 that im selling... You can buy it without the sub if youd like also...make an offer if your interested! Its good shape!

I just installed that JL Audio sub in my factory box (4 ohm). I am very, very pleased with it...and that's using the factory amp. Excellent choice in my opinion. But it won't fit the 95 enclosure. That was for a 6.5" sub. My 99 takes an 8".

Check for tang bang subs on partsexpress.com they can fit in stock speaker location and will do the trick.
