What will flex better?

the shocks only control the rebound of the spring
The spring is responsible for supporting the weight of the vehicle
If your suspension is sagging it is the leaf, they wear out and get flat.

In the front the torsion bar acts as a spring on your IFS truck.

The Old Man Emu springs are head and shoulders above the stock springs. they are better built and smoother. When I had my stock springs the rear would kick out going quickly over train tracks and such. Once the OME springs were in it rode straight and absorbed the bumps. Also stock springs will eventually become bent under heavy off road use, when I pulled mine off they had a nice S-shape near the rear eye. Off road performance is not cheap and sprrings are a MAJOR factor in that performance so why scrimp?

Agrreed, I couldnt be happier with the ride the soft Skyjacker leafs give me....
