What's needed for a tranny flush, 5.0?

I'm going to get my tranny flushed and filled with Amsoil ATF. I'm also going to get the transfer case done. I've got the fluid and talked to a local shop about doing the work. They didn't have the "kit" complete the job. Kit entails gasket and filter I'm told. (I'm getting the pan dropped of course).

What exactly is needed to do all the work? I'm assuming gasket and filter for the tranny. Do I need a gasket for the transfer case as well? I'm really a mental midget then it comes to this stuff.

Also, where would be the best place to score these parts? Dealer or auto parts store. Is it hard to track down stuff like this for the V8? Any idea on cost? (I've got a 2nd gen, 99)

Keep in mind I'm in Canada, so no Autozone.

at any decent Parts store they should have the kit with the filter and gasket.

the transfer case has a drain and fill plug so no gasket is necessary.


filter with gasket should be around 20 bucks.
