if it is the same as the one in a 4x4 1994 explorer, the warn instruction kit that came with my manual hub conversion was 150 ft-lbs..... it maxxed out my torque wrench and was hard to crank but i did it....

i am not sure but i have the haynes manual (green) 1991-1995 ford X + navajo manual sitting on my desk right next to me..... if you need more help

Inside nut is 13 inch pounds or hand tight. I just take both hands and turn it till its snug. Outside nut is 150 foot pounds.

good one.... that sounds about right... i forgot about the inside one..... i just remember having to really torque on the outer one......

I don't even use a torque wrench any more, I just lean on my 2-1/2' breaker bar.

Inner nut 35 lbs while spinning hub
back off 1/4 turn
then 13 inch lbs
outer nut 150 lbs

ok ron's sounds the most correct... i remember it now

Not THOSE spindle nuts!!! I guess I wasn't too clear. I'm talking about the five nuts that attach the spindle to the knuckle. I fried a spindle from bearing disintergration, and am replacing it. Actually, I have the answer now. JAY saw my post and called me. He says it's 35-45 ftlbs. Thanks guys!

Woops, you mean the spindle nuts, not the spindle bearing nuts. I knew that, I was just testing you. I get to tear the whole front out of my truck next weekend to replace all 4 ball joints. You even have to take the axles out, what a bummer. Oh, well, it gives me an excuse to spend the weekend in the garage. If I pay someone to do it, it will take all my locker and rear bumper money. Bill, I got a Powertrax no slip locker for the rear diff for $300.00. I am waiting for the next scheduled trip before I get around to putting it in. It looks really sad on my workbench though, don't think I can wait much longer.
