@donalds Your '99 looks great. It looks like our very first Explorer (but much cleaner).

I haven't taken any pics of my '01 EB lately, but it looks even better now than the day I bought it 6 years ago (and it looked almost new then). Other than a small parking lot dent in the center of the right rear door the body and paint are almost perfect, the interior is perfect and it has no mechanical problems. I'm actually considering getting a paint less-dent-repair done on the door. Next time I have it out I'll post some new pics. It's right at about 200,000 miles.

Since I've owned it:
Added a spring to floppy driver's exterior door handle
Added Vent Visors
Modified rear wiper arm to get full coverage
Minor detailing here and there
New fuel pump and filter
Replaced noisy 5th shock
Replace driver's leather seat bottom
Replaced upper CA's and lower ball joints
Replaced spark plugs
Replaced battery
Installed ceramic front brake pads

Something I plan to do soon:
Replace hazy windshield

all in all, not bad for a days work

Did you try 0000 steel wool. On your windshield
The guy at the body shop showed me I tried it. On all the Windows because why not it worked
It cleansed up the windshield great and the tinted windows to the mirrors showed the most difference because they are hard to get clean

i just realized my other pic did not load lol..., i need to adjust the rear shackles, they're not 153 warriors, but they have held up so far.... the characteristic mark umder the driver door is thanks to a 2" sapling that got hooked between the inside of the driver front tire and the front bumper at 3 am last winter in the maple falls area of whatcom county, i have since moved back to grays harbor area, if your in the area, let me know, id love to go out

Mine is two years newer and it looks almost identical, except that mine has the rims with 5 holes, round fog lights, no stickers, and my original paint looks only about 20 years older than yours.

Haha okay, yes that looks exactly like mine does.

Sadly from all I could find out so far, those cracks in the paint are basically impossible to fix, unless you have the paint completely removed and repaint it.
I need to protect my roof from starting to rust, so I'll probably do what a previous owner did with the paint on my hood. After a good car wash I'll sand it just a little and then spray some hopefully half what matching black paint over it.

Mine had a piece of missing trim I finally found it at a scrap yard
Any way I went to the parts store and got match paint
And clear coat
Sand blocks and it took an hour to prep

Part looks like new
