I have searched and searched but can't find exactly what I am looking for.

I have an 03 2wd and have the roaring noise of bad bearings. Every thread I have found on the subject talks about replacing hubs for $150 or so each.

Isn't it just the 4x4 and AWD that you have to replace the entire hub assy.? Since I have a 2wd can't I just change the bearings??

Does anyone know where I can find a writeup or anything on changing out the front wheel bearings.

I thought i read the front hubs are setup the same 2wd/4wd, just no half shafts, diff, driveshaft. $150 that sounds about right for parts. Someone just did a write up or was it rears?

We just changed a set (both fronts), it is a 4X4, but 2 wheel and 4 wheel are the same, it seems expensive but worth it to just change it out. Try and find the SKF brand (checkers) the set is 100% complete with bolts and ABS sensor too.
