i want my wheels further out past the fenders about 2 to 3 inches to avoid rollovers and for looks. my 1995 explorer is street driven. 50 miles a week max. stock wheels. never driven off road. will it create any problems if i'm just driving around town two or three times a week and not jumping ramps or crawling rocks?..

I dont think this is a good idea. The wheel mass should be centered on the bearing.

Because your not driving the vehicle very much doesn't mean there still wont be a problem, it will just take longer to show its self.

ok i understand that there is going to be wear n all but how much is there? will my bearing or any other parts go out in 3 months or three years?

There's really no way to tell - just too many variables at play like bearing manufacturer, environment (salty air, dry, humid, etc..), and so on.

does anyone have experience using them? or currently running on them? so how long and how hard do you run them? thanks

You can get wheels with a different offset to push them out. You might also end up with a clearance problem between the tire and the back of the front fender when turning.

i like the stock wheels so thats y im looking to put in spacers. anyone currently have a set on their suv/truck?

i beleive my adapter spacers are 1.25 to 1.50, pretty big in my eyes, these spacers have been in use for easy 4 years, between 33's-36's-and now 31s, soon to 33s. Ive seen alotta incidents where they do fail but its mostly to people slappin them on and callin it a day. With my personal experience the first week of using them i must have re torqued them 15 times easy, and several times since (as precaution). If not you risk shearing studs and driving wheeless. My spacers have been beaten sensless and have NEVER failed me. So my advice is use at your own risk, as tedious and time consuming as it may be, retorque retorque retorque retorque. And odds are all will be well

ok thats what i was lookin to hear..someone who runs on them. ok thanks for the info..retorq X20..got it. and the installation difficulty?1-10

installing them takes a smidge less than bolting on a wheel, looking at my spacers today they actually seem more than 1.5 even tho i didnt measure. but regaurdless they just bolt on up

I use Eibach Pro 25mm=1" Spacer Kits #90.4.25.010.3, for a year now and I love them,

Just don't forget to torque them well and to use Loctite blue threadlocker on them

sounds simple enough. where can i get a set(4) for around 100$? and do you guys have any pics u can share?

ok i found some on ebay for 150$. and it says that the hub centric ones should be used for the rear and the non hub centric is recomended for the front..? are you guys running all hub centric ones?

I use spacers all the time on my cars. But Ive never needed them on my Explorer.

Another thing you might want to consider getting is a wheel and hub centric spacer.

adaptitusa is a pretty good place to deal with.

the Eibach Pro 25mm=1" Spacer Kits #90.4.25.010.3 are hub centric

a pair cost $145.95 at Summitracing.com

145$ a pair is a bit pricey for me haha. did you have to shave down the wheel stock wheel studs? any clearance problems during turns? im planning on getting the ebay ones for 150$ the whole set. good idea?

They were a direct bolt on, with 32's tires I have a light rubbing on very hard turns

if your willing to get offsets and do some fender work id go 12.5wide max. i got 33x14.5 in the rear and its the meanest look ever. had 14.5 all around but got sick of all the rubbing in the front. youll have to do fender work but its well worth it

I have run 1.25 inch Spidertrax spacers for years on my '99 Jeep TJ (35s with Ford Explorer 8.8 rear). No issues... and I wheeled and ran them hard. Moab, Spring Creek, I-25, trips to Iowa, etc.

Run them. With Loctite.

Of course, as your rig gets bigger, things such as balljoints, TREs, fenders, etc., all will need modification and/or maintenance more frequently.
