High everyone,
I'm getting ready to order some new wheels for my 91 explorer, I'm not sure if the 18x9.5 wheels with +25mm offset will work or not, I know the 18x8 with +25mm offset will work.
Has anyone on here ran a 18x9.5 with +25mm offset successfully with no rubbing issues ?

A little more info would help - 4x4 or 4x2, street truck, lowered or lifted, intended tires, intended future mods...? Searching on this forum but in another section related to tires and wheels will also net more info.

Those Kenda Klever H/T-50's are great tires. You will love them. :)

These are going on a 2WD explorer street rod with a stroker V8 lowered 3 inches in the front and 4 inches in the back with many future mods to come

You should be able to fit the 255/55/18 tire with the right wheel offset. I think 8" is wide enough and would be easier to fit.

I can't tell you exactly but I have that tire on my 98 truck now, on an 18x8.5" wheel with about 29mm offset. I began with 265/60's, and moved down to a 255/60, and the last time to the 255/55 tires.

Be very careful about the actual weights of the wheels, and the tire combination. My first set were 72.5lbs each, and stock 15's were around 55lbs. The 17's I used first were 58lbs, and those were great(255/60 and no loss of performance). The 18's extra 14lbs+ hurt noticeably.

The front suspension of the 1st gen's are different than the 2nd gen, so I can't say where you will have the least clearances.

I'm soon going to wear out my 18's, scrap the wheels(near to 30lbs each), and use 17's I bought used because they are forged and only weigh 22lbs. I just bought 275/55's which weigh 32lbs, so a total of 54lbs will be much better than big heavy "dubs."

Thanks for the reply, and things to look out for, much appreciated...
