Sort of random question for you guys... I have two of these trim pieces in my collection of spare parts for my Mounty, and I have no idea where they go. At first I thought they were for the seat bolts, but they definitely don't fit.
Here's a link to an eBay listing of the part in question.

end of the seat mount rails?
or top or bottom of one of the seat belts

I believe those are the trim pcs that cover the rear mtg bolts of the front seat tracks.

I'll take a look at it tomorrow. When I checked the rear seat rail bolts they didn't fit. I don't think it's for a seat belt, the top covers are gray and the bottom is behind the B-pillar trim.

Well it's definitely not for the rear seat track bolts, those covers are all in place. It looks like they COULD be for the front, but there is no way to fasten them. It's weird, because they appear to be for the seat bolts, but I can't figure out where they could possibly go.
Doesn't seem to be for the seat belt either. Maybe these are for an earlier Explorer? But they were in the truck when I bought it, so I doubt it.

Seems like such a minor thing, but it's driving me nuts that I can't find where these go!

Front seat, rear bolt covers. In these photos, the front seat is slid far forward. In the second picture, the part has been slipped off...

Set them on the carpet behind the bolt structure, then slide them front. They snap on, but the connection seems feeble. IMHO, these decorative covers are out of sight when you slide the front seat into position.

Good luck.

Mr. Alligator for the win!

Coincidentally I just re-installed my rear seat day before yesterday after fuel pump access cover...and mine were missing from the get-go ("but the connection seems feeble")...didn't they know existed till Mr A's post here...
This would be a good time for me to start a Go-Fund me link here to get all four off that Ebay posting.. ;)

I think those are to protect any bare feet of passengers, those metal parts are hard and sharp.

Woohoo! That's it... I was looking at the passenger seat (first pic), and I assumed the covers were the same. It would appear not! I hadn't previously noticed it because I have my driver seat pretty far back, and it doesn't like to slide (motor stops after a few inches). I was able to slide them into place, and the connection is indeed feeble. They'll work though. Out of sight, but I feel better knowing they're in place. I'm picky about the small stuff.

Thanks!
