Which EGO is which

I have been searching and lurking and haven't found my answer. I am doing a 1997 Explorer V8 swap (I won't say into what 'cause I don't want to be shot) and my schematic just lists my oxygen sensors as 1 through 4, not upstream or down stream or what side. From the position in the wiring harness, I am guessing No. 2 is upstream, passenger side. I am clueless on the others.

Also, what is the best way to get the PCM to run with a manual transmission?
