I am intrested as well.

I've got one. I like it.

It's got a bigger hole for the air to come through (on my '91 at least, don't know about yours). I think it's supposed to have better tuned electronics, don't know if it's true or not, but mine works just fine for me. I did have to drive it for a few minutes and let the engine learn.

Plus: If memory serves me correctly, I noticed a slightly better response when I hit the gas. I know you're into gas mileage, sorry, can't help you there. I have no clue what I was getting before it.

Minus: None I can think of right now other than the cost (but then again, I'd rather pay less for everything:))

All I can say is, make sure the connector is in all the way when you put it all back together!!! :p

Anyone else with thoughts about it?

I have one. It works fine. It's been in over a year now and no problems. It is much wider and has no grille inside. I was not interested in buying one except that I found a sale for them, and did an impulse buy. Can't remember what I paid but it might have been something like $180. Whatever the price was, it was too good for me to pass up so I bought it mainly for future mods. I didnt expect much performance benefit given my mods but, on a 91-94 Explorer the stock maf is quite restrictive (whereas on a 95+ it's wider) so any little bit can't hurt.

Performance wise, is as you know, quite subjective but I may have noticed a little more kick at WOT (wide open throttle) situations such as passing and accelerating to highway speed. Since I don't have a cat-back exhaust I am probably not seeing full benefit. I'm about to fix that situation though, getting a magnaflow and custom pipe soon.

There was no change in MPG. I know this for a fact because I kept track of mileage before and after. My truck is getting 13/18 as always.

It is a substantial diameter upgrade for a 91-94 X, but not a 95+.

I've got one in the attic with a bunch of other parts. I ran the 70mm mass air calibrated for the 19lb stock injectors.

Now I've got a Pro-M 80mm. Couldn't tell you the difference between the 2 brand names, but the 80mm helped out alot with everything else done. I did the change (to the Granetelli) the same time as most of the other mods, so really can't give too much info on how much it helped. Got a good deal on the Pro-M, so I changed to it...

I've got one and really like it. It wasn't much larger than stock, but the computer sends higher readings to the engine, or at least thats the way I understand it. I really like it. above 3500 I could really tell it. Smoother, and more powerful.

Cobra.. interested in sellin some of your parts in the attic?

It is a much bigger diametre than the 91-94 X's, but note that they (form 91-94 and the latermodels of the 4.0 ohv) both are rated at the same horse power and torque. So none the less it's still worth it.

I got one for my V8 Sploder.
Not sure if I was just doin a lame job of keeping track of my MPG before, but after I installed the MAF I'm getting 16mpg, when before it was only 14mpg. I haven't really felt any power difference, but the extra 2 MPG was worth it for all the driving I do.

Just a short opinion...I have a 1991 Navajo w/AOD w/the Granatelli MAf.. I installed it 2 1/2 yrs ago & regardless of what some have said, I DID feel an improvement in both power, throttle response & very MINOR mpg gain. I have since installed Magnecor wires, Throttle body spacer & K&N filter.

On a freeway trip, 1300 miles, from San Diego to Spokane just last month, pulling a 4x8 U-Haul trailer & loaded w/just over 1000lbs of stuff, I averaged 15-18mpg the entire trip, including through the mtns, @ an avg speed of 70-75 the entire way. There was improved power going up the hills, in fact often my tranny did not even drop out of overdrive w/torque converter lockup on many of the moderate hills.

My vehilcle has 154,000 miles, has never had any work done on the engine or tranny & is a 4x4 model.

Just thought I'd pass on my info. And no, I don't work for any of the manufacturers of these products...I just feel that if there is a good product out there, you should pass on the info.

BTW, I tried out the Jacobs Mileage Master ignition setup. Truck ran worse, mileage dropped, very poor starting after hot shutdown...sorry, maybe some have had good luck, but I personally didn't.

I did, but only because I didn't plug the harness in good enough.. Checked it, and at first it was hard to push it in all the way... But I did it, and never had a problem since (well, had to unplug it once, and did the same thing, but no probs since then)..

I threw a code on mine - take a look at Dead Link Removed
