Who's running 35's on their daily driver?

Well I am ready to get some rubber in the near future, and I figure go big or go home, but I dont want to end up paralyzed or anything so I want opinions. I am thinking of getting 35x12.5x15 MTR's and am regearing to 4.56
I want to know if I will have nearly the same fuel economy as I do with 32's and 3.73 gears. also I wonder about the tall sidewall and overall safety if I drive this on the interstate. I still want her to be able to go 75 mph when necessary, right now I cruise around 72-75 mph without being too scared and am thinking of adding my rear swaybar back into the setup.

I put about 11,000 miles a year on the beast and probably 85% of it is in town, with weekend trips and a little business trip here and there out of town.

Danny-- uh... I got 35's the only thing i worry about is a blow out on the interstate, cause that is a long way down w/ a flat. I got no sway bar in the rear, and my truck is fine... Milage... I used to know.. but not really anymore... I think around town it was 10-12... and interstate between 12-15. Take in mind, I'm still running 3.73's so that doesn't help around town, and on the interstate, it's hard to get going fast, but I can cruise at 65 no prob, and I've had it up to 80 before it really couldn't give anymore.

I'm running 35's on my daily driver w/3.73...Performs well on and off road. I have a few engine mods, that helps.
I do plan on regearing in the future, but that is only to lower the stress on the tranny..

Regearing will take stress off of your tranny correct. Does this also take stress off of the engine? I think I will be calibrated to nearly a stock setup, but it seems there should be a catch. Will my joints be able to handle these pigs? Dont plan on ditching the 8.8 and Dana 35 in the near, or far future

Regearing will let the engine run at more efficient RPM's. That may result in your MPG probably not changing, or even possibly improving a little over 3.73 with 32's.
You'll be able to cruise at good freeway speeds, but the key is to recalibrate your speedo, so it won't read that you're going 55 when you're actually doing 70.

With 4.56 and 37's, I can cruise at 72 mph at 2500 rpm. I don't know my top speed, but I have gone 85 before. You won't lose your top-end speed.

I'm running 35x14.50 MT and have been sence jan. or feb.I drive the interstate almost everyday at 72 to 75 mph.It's nice being able to see over most everything.Gas mileage does suffer runnig this size tire.I have had to rebuild my tranny(5 speed)the teeth broke off the counter shaft gears.It's not to expensive if you do it yourself.

I forgot to add that I'm getting 16 mpg with a mix of city/highway driving.

Possible Disclaimer: my truck's about 1000lbs lighter than an Ex, that probably affects the mileage a little!

I'm running 35s with 4:56 gears and getting about 14mpg. I removed both anti-sway bars and havn't had any problems. Top speed is 85-90 on free way.

I run 35's on two of my explorers and have had no problems with either of them! Go for it.

I average about 13 mpg between city and highway driving. I've had 35s and 4.56s for over a year now, and I have had no problems. My mileage is so crappy because the way I drive. I don't have either sway bar on at all either.

72mpg? LOL... That's some HELLA gas milage... I know it's not just the ranger

Well I'm running 35 also, but with the supercharger the gas mileage sucks big time. Colin (Fenderguy) convince me this summer to run my truck with both the front & rear sway bars off. When we were coming back from the Rubicon this summer we were doing about 75-80 mph. and the truck handle alot better then I thought it would without the sways on. They are still off and will probably remain so.

are you guys saying 14 mpg highway or regular? Right now I get anywhere between 10-14 city and 15-20 highway depending on where I am going, if I do a little of everything on the same tank)wheeling, highway and city it usually ends up around 15 so I dont complain. I just dont want it to be 14 HWY and single digits city
