Why does AC compressor turn on/off even when using heater?

Hi guys,
I have the 4.0 V6 SOHC, I noticed that the AC compressor turns on and off when im using the heater. Just clicks on spins for bit then off and keeps repeating, is something wrong?

it works to take the moisture out of the air so the windows defog faster.
