I was out looking for a new explorer today, 95 to 98 sport, white or black with under or around 70,000 miles. the thing is it would have to be around $9,000 *damn i'm pretty picky, huh?* and i found one....oh shes beatiuful too white with only about 36,000 miles on her my local ford dealer...its a 98 i think. it has the square fogs in the air dam, i think that means its a 98 right?

anyways i fear the dealer will want to much for it since it only has 36,000 miles on it... :( the world is so cruel

bro, I got me 01 with 24000 on it for 12 g's. Good deals can be found with the right mix of work, timing, and balls.

edit: and lots and lots of LUCK. good luck finding a sport

that brings me much need confidence and hope!!! thanks

98's have the newer tailgate, no? That is how I would determine the year..

Good luck, and try get a good price on that one you saw..

I bought my '97 XLT w/ the works for 11 or 12k with 59k miles last year.

The '97 have the square fogs. Not sure about the '98s

Got my 2001 XLT AWD last year for only $19K with 18K miles. You'll find yours cheap - look, and look hard!

Good luck!

Ry.

i believe the 98s have the newer tail gate but still have the square fogs?

i know i just want a new X so bad it hurts :)

Yeah thats correct. A good way to distinguish a 98 from earlier years.

went and got the vin number a while ago. ran a free carfax on it.
its a 98 v6 sohc with 36500 miles on it, and it is 4x4.

i hope i could get this for around 9,500 probably will take lots of negotiating

nothing personal man, but that explorer isnt worth 9. id look around on the private market and be patient, youll be glad you did. i got my loaded to the gills limited for 10, but it took me 4 months to find it, patience man.
